Touchy Subjects by Mokie Joe: To understand the methodology of the story-telling media, look no further than two situations currently occupying the energy of netroots activists: Chris Matthews equating of bin Laden and Michael Moore and Tim Russerts racially-tinged, guilt-by-association line of questioning in a recent interview with Barack Obama. In each instance, the meta-theme is that Democrats are terrorist-lite traitors, and the subtext is that Bush and Republicans are the true patriots.

Blue Crab Boulevard picks up Lieberman's final sentence from the quotation, which appears to be a warning to the Dems. Gay Patriot says the Dems have a dilemma, but not as large as his, apparently: "Right now, Joe Lieberman faces the dilemma of whether to make contingency plans to run as an independent or stake it all on winning the Democratic primary (which would make him a shoo-in for re-election).
