[Media International] Morocco Takes Stand on Homosexuality and the Shiites: The article goes on to speak of nearly a dozen people that have been arrested under suspicion that they had converted to Shiite Islam.  It then talks about a school being shut down in fear that the children are being taught Shiite Islam.  I just found it very strange that the article started out speaking of a media group being scrutinized because it wanted more freedom for gay activists, and then it takes a huge turn on Shiite Islam.  The fact that this is an Associated Press article gets me confused even more.  There is no hint of a correlation between these media organizations and Shiite Islam, so why did the story go in that direction?

[Palestine Chronicle - Headlines] Myth of Sectarianism in the 'New Middle East': The failure of the US (and other Western powers) to move away from a sectarian discourse in accounting for the dynamics of the Middle East, and the failure to impress this reality upon regional Arab clients, will predictably have significant repercussions. There are several very real issues that need to be resolved in this region, and they have precious little to do with the myth of sectarianism.

[blog.Tribulationperiod.com] All Conspiracy Roads Leading to Iran, Turkey, and Syria!: I believe after the false peace truce is in effect at some point in time between 2010 and 2015 Hizbullah, in a pre-planned conspiracy with Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq, will perform an act that provokes Israel, the King of the south, to charge north into southern Lebanon. At that time, the Islamic conspiracy forces will be deliberately waiting to launch a vicious counter attack against the Israeli push into Lebanon, and will begin a massive southward push on both sides of the Galilean, Samarian, and Judean Mountains, which will finally stop at Beersheba, the gateway to the Negev Wilderness.

[A Bangladeshi American's Blog] Is it Prudent for America to Leave Iran in the Enemy Camp? « A ...: According to the startling news, the new military agreement between the two countries occurred after the Russian Defense Minister’s visit to Tehran, which I must opine was a first such event to take place after 1979 Islamic revolution in that nation of about 70 million strong Shiite Muslims.  Russia, before taking such a radical step of reconnecting to Islamic Republic of Iran had given the prior notification to the United States that she (Russia) would no more abide by 1995 US-Russia agreement vis-à-vis arms’ sales to Iran after 1999.
