[Iraq and Gulf Analysis] If on the other hand it means a collective flight into the fantasy world of Faryad Rawanduzi, then it will lessen their prospect for participation in the next Iraqi government. Not much is expected to happen this week, which is a long holiday weekend in Iraq (though with both Allawi and Maliki currently in Lebanon according to reports).

Persepolis

[Hot Ginger and Dynamite] If you haven't seen it - get to your local cinema for Persepolis, it's fantastic. For a short time in March, the film was banned in Lebanon, by Wafiq Jizzini who obviously has no close ties to Hizbullah, who in turn clearly aren't .

'Persepolis' Banned In Lebanon
[Starpulse Entertainment News Blog] Lebanese officials say they've banned the movie, which is based on the autobiographical graphic novel by co-director Marjane Satrapi, because they want to avoid potentially offending any pro-Iranian elements in Lebanon, including political and paramilitary opposition organization Hezbollah.

As Goes Lebanon So Goes the Middle East
[Jihadi Du Jour] Watching the news a moment ago my Beloved Curmudgeon noted that the newscast used and entire 3 minute segment on whether or not the United States had been wiretapping Princess Diana prior to her death in 1997. Following that segment, there was a 30 second segment on the looming crisis in Lebanon.
