Iran Reviews > MAQzine: IRAN vs ISRAEL :
[MAQzine] The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

[My Catbird Seat] Somebody Please Hand Abbas The Revolver on the Silver Tray | My ...: A founding member of Arafats Fatah faction, he won the presidency of the Palestinian National Authority in 2005 in a dodgy and deeply lopsided contest - lets not dignify it with the word ”election - in which Israel seriously interfered to obstruct other candidates. He has overstayed his term by two years and is widely regarded as having no legitimacy and no popular mandate, yet hes still propped up by the US and Israel and their hangers-on.

[War in Context] Israel and the new Middle East ” War in Context: The events of the last few days in Egypt - apparently the most important regional development since the Islamic revolution in Iran and the Egyptian-Israeli peace deal of 1979 - are also an expression of the decision-makers’ nightmare, the planners and intelligence agents in Israel.
[Mondoweiss] More vindication for Goldstone: British news reports Israeli ...: violence recall Gideon Levy’s take that Cast Lead allowed Israel to freely exact its hatred against Arabs and Palestinians. Usually when serving in the territories, there is at least some modicum of restraint or discipline (however loosely imposed or weakly based on self-serving, self-made “rules of engagement”).
[Jews for Justice for Palestinians] Israeli responses to the Egyptian upheaval | Jews for Justice for ...: For example, what would have happened if the green-movement would have culminated in a democratic revolution last year, but a democratically elected Iranian government would have continued to support a confrontational policy with regard to Israel, as indeed happened in Turkey, Lebanon, and with the Palestinians election of Hamas?
[Untitled] FINLAND'S A.I. CHAIRMAN STICKS IT TO ISRAEL AGAIN AND MAKES A FOOL ...: Particularly concerned about the fate of the Mubarak regime is, of course, Israel. Israel has robustly put down two Palestinian intifadas (people’s uprising), without any consideration of the formal protests by the West’s leaders concerning human rights violations. The Israeli government probably would like to see the Egyptian repression of the Intifada, and the same kind of silent protest from the western states. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has even hoped that the West would turn the situation and and save Mubarak’s regime. Netanyahu, and certainly many other governments around the world, fear that if the fair elections are held in Egypt, the winner would end up being the Muslim Brotherhood. Just as in the last elections in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, where Hamas won the elections. Because that’s when the western countries refused to recognize that organizations which democratically came to power. It is democracy, when the winner is not the desired outcome.
[Ray Cook] Israel Diary - Egypt on the brink « Ray Cook: So focused are they in vilifying and delegitimising Israel with a viciousness reserved for no other country, so keen have they been to see militant Islam as a reaction to Israel’s ‘oppression’ of Palestinians, so keen have they been to minimise the Islamist threat in the region, that they have been taken unawares by this new potential twist in the Middle East story.
[Daryl Cagle's Cartoon Web Log] Cagle Post » Israel vs. Palestinians and My Cartoon Trip to the ...: Janet ….your comments read like a text straight out of the Hasbara playbook….nearly word for word…same old tired nonsense….reflects the sad fact that folks like you exist in an echo chamber …repeating like mantras what you are told instead of reading, thinking for yourself. Try thinking outside of the hasbara box for a few minutes each month….you may actually start to reflect reality instead of propaganda !
[Australians for Palestine] COOK: As the dominoes flow toward Israel 30Jan11: Iraq has an umbilical cord to Iran, that Afghanistan remains and will remain unfettered by America’s dictates, and that Syria continues to maintain meaningful control in Lebanon despite the efforts of the Israeli-American alliance to destabilize it. Perhaps he sees that the fall of Mubarak will mean that Egypt will no longer be a puppet of the Israeli state, and then perhaps Jordan will follow, and the dominoes will tumble one upon the next toward Israel leaving it standing naked before the world, delegitimized by the people of the mid-east dictating in their own way that tolerance of bought regimes is not the way to democracy and human rights.
[Mondoweiss] How long before American media takes these 5 Egyptian lessons to ...: My point is, Witty sets one set of standards for Jews (“Israel has a right to defend its illegal settlements, and even though they’re illegal removing those Jewish children who were trucked in by the Israeli government is ethnic cleansing”) and another set of standards for everyone else (“Clearly, a Palestinian man living at home with his wife and his children are using them as human shields. Israel MUST bomb apartment buildings and murder whole families.
[Feed for Arabist.net] The general - Blog - The Arabist: Yes, Hamas grew out of the Brotherhood, but they're two separate organizations, and necessarily have different aims and strategies because they exist in very different contexts. No reputable academic who studies the Brotherhood thinks they have any interest in imposing a theocracy on Egypt.
