There's a lot missing from the final product that could have made this a more memorable ride, but there's still some fun to be had here, regardless (just don't go expecting too much).

[Technology: Games blog | guardian.co.uk] Is Prince of Persia too easy? | Technology | guardian.co.uk: Yes, the Prince of Persia is simply too easy. And that's coming from me, someone who is much happier playing 8 hours of quality than 80 hours of bloat and has got a gaming "to-finish" pile 2 feet high.
[Untitled] Prince of Persia Reviewed | Gaming And Consoles | Tech Lime: The original Prince of Persia took the 2D platform game, added realistic and (for the time) cinematic animation, and developed the sort of tricks, traps and puzzles that games like Tomb Raider would later rely on. Then, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time made the formula work in 3D, with a beautifully realistic control system and a superbly implemented time control feature that, in a flash, made Tomb Raider and its clones seem fiddly, dated and frustrating.
[MTV Multiplayer] MTV Multiplayer » Game Diary - December 8, 2008: The Alarming ...: At E3 in July, I had been impressed with the game’s graphics and acrobatic gameplay, but I had heard little of the game since. I suspected that the title’s December release and lack of media exposure was a warning of a flawed production.

[Untitled] N4G.com : WhatTheyPlay Review: Prince of Persia (PS3): This method is something reminiscent of a Super Mario game rather than the linear approach found in the previous Prince of Persia games, allowing for some flexibility in how you play the game. The items needed come in the form of magic orbs, and much like a Mario game, some may be easy to collect, while others will require a little more ingenuity when negotiating the environments if they want to succeed, making for something with a little extra flair.
[crouton days] crouton days ” Prince of Persia, why cant you rewind time?: Even jumping on a goomba requires some precision and timing, but in Prince of Persia, any smash on the gamepad produces a dance of insane acrobatics. [Comic Book Resources] Comic Book Resources > CBR News: Producer Talks "Prince of Persia": We want the dramatic attack sequences of the Prince to be complemented by the use of camera, sound and visual effects to create an overall combat sequence whose intensity rivals the most spectacular choreographed fight scenes in cinema. [In Dispute] In Dispute » Blog Archive » Prince Of Persia (2008): It’s been a LONG time since I first attempted to play the orginal Prince Of Persia way back when and to be honest after the failures I had attempting to get past the first stage, I gave up pretty quickly and never looked back at any of the subsequent titles despite here good things about them, all I could see was a fumbling boy at the computer hitting space and forward, jumping and dying at the same spot every time…. the trauma was just too much to bear.
[Untitled] Three Speech: Semi-Official PlayStation Blog » Prince of Persia ...: PS3 and Xbox 360 owners who’ve never played any of the older Persia games might even wonder where all this negativity has come from, but for those who know the joy of the last-gen classics the Fresh Prince is quite simply a great big step, swing and hop, or button press, in the wrong direction for us.
[Untitled] Review: Prince Of Persia - Techno, Techno, Techno - Gadget & Games ...: Fluid, acrobatic movements make the game's astonishing environmental puzzles a pleasure to fathom, scaling vast structures with ease. Likewise, combat too is a graceful, effortless affair, giving even the most simplistic of moves flair unfound in other titles.
